Goodbye Summer

August. What to say about August? August was one of those months that felt like it lasted forever and was also over in a flash. It was hot. We were tired. We spent most of the month vacillating between the need to relax and do nothing and the urge to do all things before school started back up. The month definitely had some challenges, but we managed to have some fun. 

We never spend as much time at the beach as I hope to . . . and yet, we had some epic beach days in August. I'm already looking forward to many more next summer. 

The girls are so comfortable in the water. They love swimming so much and are little fishes when we're at the beach.

We got to check out new parks and hang out at old favorites. June worked on decorating her new space in their bedroom. 

And of course, we spent lots of time with friends and eating treats! 

And just like that, it was time to go back to school. We had lots of nerves and excitement leading up to the first day. It was a cheerful return overall. We are all so so so grateful that we can be back in the classroom with friends for however long it lasts.
