The Olympics

I thought June would enjoy watching the Olympics with us. She was moderately entertained by some of the feats, but in general, it was just an endless stream of questions. At some point, I thought it'd be amusing to make a log of all the things she asked me about. I only wrote down unique questions, so in actuality this list is about 150 times longer because she asked each question 1100 times.

I don't know why, but I crack up every time I read this. Maybe because if I don't laugh, I'll lose my mind with all the questions. The other day, Mike finally turned the tables and asked June why she asks so many questions. And she said, "because I have to learn and know things." Touche, June, touche!

Cycling
Why is there a big line?
Why are they going slow now?
Why do they have numbers in their butts?
Why do they wear fancy helmets?
Why are they by the beach?
Why is there a car?
Why do they have new bikes?
Why are they going so far?
Why are they still going?
Is it over yet?
Who's in the cars?
Where are the cars now?
Who's in the front?
What's her name?
Why are they standing?
Why are they still going up the hill?
Lily who's in the front?
Are they going so fast? Why?

Swimming
Why is she going slow?
Why is she still in the water?
Why are they still racing?
Is it done yet?
Why do they stop every time?
Why do they bring their own hats?
Why do they keep going?
Why is water splashing on their faces?
Why is there all that water?
Is this when everyone does the same thing together?

Gymnastics
The uniform goes all the way up to their vagina.
What's a back flip?
Why are they walking behind that girl with the flag?
Why are they happy crying?
She's very sparkly.
What's her name?
What state is she from?
What's her mom's name?

White-Water Canoeing
What is that boy floating in?
What are they doing now?
That's very hard for little kids.
He has a safety hat on. That's what you always have to do.
He said woo when he was win.
Where is he gonna park?
Is it raining?
Why is water falling down?
He was the fastest one and he winned.
Who's turn is it now?
What's his name?
Who's that?
Why do they have safety vests?
What city does he come from? (Czechoslovakia) whoa! That's a very far place.

Rowing
What are they doing?
What's the in their hands?
They're still on the boats
Why are they still on the boats?
Why does the cockman have a microphone?

Water Polo
They're playing volleyball in the pool

Track & field
Her name is Alison
Her name is like yours
Her skin is different than yours
Why are they running again?

Diving
Why do they put more water in the pool?
When do you dive?
Why she can't go yet?
What's her name?
Whoa
They're trying to do their splashes so tiny
I wish I could do that when I grow up
Why's she doing it again?
What do they yell when they're done?

June's big take-away from the Olympics is she understands people all over the world get together and she now knows what happy-crying is. I can't wait to see how this changes over the years as we watch more games together.
