March

March was a low-key month for us. School, hanging at home, ushering in spring weather. We didn't do a whole lot in anticipation of our spring break trip (lots of pics in a post to come soon).

We've been cooking a lot! Lily loves using her Raddish Kit. And she also joined the cooking club at school. It's all virtual, but she's been able to make some snacks on her own with video instruction.

June has also been cooking more and more this past year. With the extra time at home, we've had the opportunity to let the girls cook more. June can make her own quesadillas and scrambles herself some eggs most mornings for breakfast. Now that her reading is so strong, she can follow a recipe easily. Hopefully she'll start cooking us all dinner soon.

The most exciting part of March was that Mike and I both got our first vaccine shots. We are so relieved and grateful and excited to be getting one step closer to "normal" life. We are both set to get our second doses next week. Most of our friends here in Chicago are getting their appointments scheduled as well. We're so eager to be able to go back to school and work and travelling and hanging out with friends (inside and closer than 6') and visiting family.

In the meantime, we've been taking advantage of the beautiful spring days here in Chicago. We've been meeting up at the parks for outdoor playdate/picnics with friends and it's been absolutely wonderful (to hang out and also not wear heavy coats)!
