After a busy start to the school year, we spent our fall doing some of our favorite outdoor activities. We got to return to our favorite apple orchard after a hiatus last year. The girls are getting more efficient at picking apples and filled their pockets, as well as our bags.

We took a lot of bike rides, including one to check out the Chicago Botanical Gardens for the first time. It was beautiful and the property was massive. We saw only a small part of it and can't wait to go back.

Finally, after cancelling a camping trip earlier in the year because of rain, we put on our big girl pants and decided not to back out of a camping trip when the temps dipped below freezing. We brought snow pants and extra blankets and lots of hot chocolate. Having 4 other families full of friends join us also helped!

During the day, it warmed up quite a bit and we were able to go on a quiet lake-front bike ride. This bike is so awesome. We love having it and taking it on our adventures.
