July

July was a busy month for us. Right after the 4th of July, Aunt Chele came to visit. We spent a few nights camping in a tee-pee. We got to ride a tractor, feed a mini horse and catch fireflies. It was a fun adventure, once we figured out how to safely manage a fireplace inside the tee-pee!

Back in the city, we took an excursion down to Chinatown to try out eating with chopsticks and hunt down some fresh fortune cookies. Apparently, they only sell fortune cookies in bulk, so we ended up with quite a few to taste-test.

We also did a little midway birthday celebration for both Aunt Chele and June. We went out for pedicures and ice cream!

Probably the most exciting news for us (or at least for me) this summer is our new bike. The girls had been outgrowing our bike trailer so we invested in a new bike. There was a bit of a learning curve for balancing with 2 kids on the same bike, but once we got the hang of it, we loved riding to summer camp, to friends' houses and to school (before it got too cold). We can't wait to use it again in the spring.

For the rest of the month, we stayed busy swimming, cooking, playing outside, gardening and going on neighborhood adventures.
