Oh Chicago, you have made up for the lousy spring weather. Finally. Sunny and warm with a cool breeze. We had a blast this weekend, welcoming in the summer season, but the weather really stole the show. It was perfection. After a pancake breakfast and some Saturday morning errands, we headed downtown to Millennium Park for a free concert. June was stoked to ride the train and sit in her own seat like a big girl.
The music was good, the people watching was primo and the picnic was delish. A good time was had by all.
On Sunday, we hosted a family BBQ. 10 kids, 11 adults. Good fun was had by all. The girls (and us) exhausted themselves playing and eating and playing some more.
Thank goodness for 3 day weekends. We really needed Monday to rest. It was a gorgeous day and we did spend some time in the yard, but we were mostly lazy. It was nice to just bum around and relax after a busy two days. But if this weekend was any indication, this summer is going to be pretty fun.
