3 1/2 going on 30. This kid cracks me up daily with the things she says and does. Sometimes I look at her and forget that she's still so young because she can act so grown-up . . . until my foot edges 1/2 cm ahead of her on the sidewalk and she screams that she wanted to go first and then there's an epic meltdown and I remember, yes, yes you're definitely still 3.
June started a tumbling class this month. It's through the parks department and is basically gymnastics without all of the equipment--so forward rolls, cartwheels, balance beam. She was quite hesitant at the first class, but quickly warmed up and volunteered to go first. It's just one of the many things we've got on our schedule to keep from going stir-crazy this winter.
June still loves hanging out with her buddy, James. They've been friends for years!
We're doing LOTS of art projects and playing with snow as much as we can.
June is eager to help shovel the sidewalk and salt.
She and Lil love playing with the water table inside. I even put some "snow" (shaving cream) in there for her arctic animals to play in.
There's also been lots of cuddling up inside with popcorn and a movie or reading some good books. June likes to "read" the books with us now. At bedtime she'll alternate lines of the story with me with her favorites. We've read them so much, we both have them memorized. Or she'll read some of Lil's simple stories to her. Her writing is getting better too, but most noticeably, her drawing has improved. She'll now draw simple stick figures that are identifiable.
