19 Months
Junie bug turned 19 months earlier this week. It seems like every day she's learning a new word--either saying it or just comprehending it.
While she's realizing she doesn't have to do what we tell her, she is usually pretty helpful. She loves to feed the dogs and she's pretty good at setting the table--she knows to put napkins and silverware at each seat.
But she's also started playing a new game when we're getting ready in the morning. When I tell her to come to me so we can get her dressed, she runs away and then looks at me, daring me to come get her. It's hysterical to her. Less so for me.
She's also just at the beginning of saying no. She's said it a few times, but hasn't really reached its full potential.
Her favorite thing right now (besides food) is stickers. She especially loves decorating our shoes with them. She goes around work stickering everyone's boots.
June is also learning not to stand on furniture (the hard way). A few days ago I reminded her for the hundredth time to please sit on her chair, not stand. She chose to sit on her table instead. When she finally decided to get off her table, she slipped and smashed her chin/mouth on her chair. When she looked up at me crying, she had blood running out of her mouth and I had my first moment of panic that perhaps she knocked out a tooth or needed stitches. Fortunately she had just bit her tongue (and scraped up her chin) and a few minutes later she was back to her normal self--standing on chairs again. So obviously, she learned a valuable lesson.
